A civilised debate on predator control is the first step towards protecting Britain’s ever declining number of wild species

Salisbury Plain curlews are thin on the ground – but the good news is – increasing.

Stiperstones and Corndon Hill Country is a beautiful upland area that crosses the Welsh English border between the Shropshire Hills and Montgomeryshire.

The RSPB, the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) and BirdWatch Ireland all have curlew projects.

Curlews are a familiar breeding bird along the Severn Vale from Gloucester up to Worcester, and along the Avon from Tewkesbury to Evesham.

The Curlew Walk is now finished and a heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped by offering bed and breakfast, encouragement, donations, expertise and kindness.

I am organising a one day conference to highlight the plight of the Curlew throughout Wales. It will be held in the Royal Welsh Showground.
